The bristles are made of BPA-free nylon which is the best available material for brushing your teeth. Unfortunately, there are currently no suitable biodegradable bristles that are acceptable from an animal (e.g. hog hair) point of view. While our bristles are not biodegradable, they can be fully recycled once removed from your bambooth and placed in a bigger container (e.g. a yogurt pot) in your recycling bin.

MOSO bamboo is a temperate species of giant timber bamboo native to the temperate regions of China and Taiwan. We source our bamboo from an FSC-certified supplier in China. While panda’s do eat around 20 species of bamboo, they do not eat MOSO-bamboo which means our bamboo is ‘panda-friendly’????

bambooth’s handle will biodegrade and return to the earth within 6 months if placed in personal or commercial composting. Please remove the bristles first by either snapping off the head or using a pliers to pull the bristles out. The bristles can be recycled as plastics if placed in a larger recyclable container. bambooth is made from a natural material which will last longer when kept dry (most toothbrushes prefer this anyway :). We recommend you dry it after use and store it in a dry place. Over time the wood may become lighter and fade- this will not affect the quality of brushing. Dentists recommend you replace your toothbrush every 2 – 3 months.

bambooth is available with either medium or soft bristles. Our kids range of bambinos are available with soft bristles only.
